Competitor Analysis
I observed that subscription prices in the market were prohibitively high.
I aimed to offer a competitive pricing model to eliminate any hesitations users might have.
Additionally, some competitors inundate users with spam notifications,
which can be counterproductive
Lastly, many calming apps boast visually impressive designs. We've taken inspiration from this, ensuring Sleepy Heads has a visually appealing and calming interface, making it more approachable for users.
EMPATHIZE
Understanding users’ needs and pain points
Affinity Diagram
We created an affinity diagram to organize and categorize the extensive amount of user research data we had collected. By synthesizing our finding into related groups, we were able to identify common themes, patterns and pain points experienced by our users.
User Persona & Journey Map
After collecting data from our user interviews, we created a user persona, which then helped us visualize what solutions would be best for her Journey.
IDEATE & Define
Helping users achieve their goal easily
Empathy Map
We created Empathy map to prioritize the major function for our app
Feature Prioritization Matrix
We created a prioritization matrix to come up with potential solutions
From this, we expanded on two main features:
Main Features
Sound Library
Remedies Page
PROTOTYPE
Our low-fidelity prototype was designed based on our user-flow. The goal was to minimize frictions when users wanted to go to sleep
User Flow
Based on our priority features,
Our user flow revolves around two main features.
Sound Library
Here, users can access a variety of soothing sounds to help them relax and drift off to sleep. Additionally, users can add their favorite sounds to a MY favorites page.
Remedies Page
Remedies Page showcases various methods to alleviate sleep-related issues.
One notable subsection is the Tea Remedies Page, offering users natural solutions to promote better sleep quality.and also users can add their favorite remedies to My favorites page
After creating the two features, our focus shifted to optimizing the task flows to ensure users can easily comprehend and utilize them.

USABILITY TESTING & IMPLEMENTING FEEDBACK
I conducted a usability test with five users in my target demographic using the prototype to see how user friendly the website is.
Some users suggested to make a homepage with a browsing option.
To meet that need, we redesigned the "Top Remedies" and "Top Sounds" sections to be scrollable and more interactive for users.
Some users found it confusing to identify the purpose of each page.
So I added titles onto each page and rearranged the layout to help users navigate and comprehend the purpose of each page more easily.
We made some other iterations:
Emphasized the Add to Favorites button
Redesigned Favorites page
Added a splash screen
Make Your Own Sleep Routine
users can make their own routine for their holistic nights
Add Remedy Videos to
Your Favorites
users can add remedy videos to their Favorites
Learnings
While working on this project, we had issues concising our features as well as combining our design ideas in the iterations for our prototype. Once we were able to define our set design, we were able to implement each team members’ ideas in the prototype.
Next Step
#1. “Sharing Night Routine” feature
#2. Agora Page
